Owasippe Scout Reservation is the premier outdoor adventure destination operated by the Pathway to Adventure Council – Boy Scouts of America, located in Twin Lake, Michigan.

*Position Overview:* We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Camp Ranger to join our team in Twin Lake, Michigan.
The Camp Ranger will work with our Lead Ranger and Properties Committee to ensure the overall maintenance, safety, and operation of our camp facilities, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for all campers and staff.
*Responsibilities:* *Operation of Physical Facilities and Property* * Keeps all physical property and mechanical equipment in a safe and acceptable operating condition.
* Maintaining conditions affecting health, safety, sanitation, and good housekeeping practices are the primary focus.
* Follow work schedules for routine maintenance checks and ordering of necessary supplies.
* Cooperates closely with staff leader to effectively resolve questions of facility operation, such as checking groups in and out, issuing of equipment, reporting occupancy, and related matters.
*Maintenance of Facilities and Equipment* * Regularly inspects all facilities to determine essential repairs and performs necessary corrective action.
* Submits estimates of time and materials and performs all general repairs, as necessary.
* Maintains record of corrective/ preventative maintenance and reports the same to the staff leader.
*Protection and Control of Property and People* * Assist in controlling the use of property.
Patrols property as necessary for trespass, vandalism, and fire.
* Ensures safe operating conditions and knowledge of all emergency procedures.
*Business Responsibilities* * Comply with established council business procedures, including accounting of all funds and materials.
* Procures necessary Purchase Orders and turns in all invoices for transmittal to the Council.
* Works with, while supervising, any volunteer work crews.
*Camp Operation-Weekend and Summer* * Check units in and out of camp during weekend camp season.
* Resolve questions of facility operation.
* Works as part of the summer Reservation Director’s key team and staff to integrate facility needs, equipment needs, and program needs.
*Relationships* * Represent the council in contacts with visitors, Scouters, and Scouts.
* Maintains a strong partnership with volunteers engaged in service work on the property while maintaining plan of the camp and council.
*Qualifications:* The Ranger must be at least 21 years old, self-motivated, and have the ability to get along with people.
Have expertise in the areas of at least one technical skill to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or mechanics.
Must register as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Certification as a Ranger from National BSA Camp School, as well as a certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid, including CPR or National Safety Council First Aid and CPR Level 1 will also be required.
High school graduate with experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, vehicle maintenance, basic engineering, and basic construction are desirable.
Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with a minimum of supervision.
Proven track record in the management of employees, budget control, problem solving, volunteer/public relations are all positive attributes.

*Salary range: $35,000 – $38,000 a year*.
