SEH is currently searching for a talented Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to work with key clients in our growing western Michigan practice! This position is open to individuals in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, or surrounding areas in Michigan! Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH.
You’ll engineer better communities - complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks.
Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects.
Regardless of the project, you’ll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction.

What you will be doing: Manage, plan, develop, coordinate and direct multiple projects for a variety of clients Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to solve challenges and provide solutions Mentor junior level staff to help foster a positive team environment Represent SEH with local governments, municipalities and other agencies at project and public meetings Respond to RFQ’s Prepare project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects Partner with business development staff to present proposals to clients, interview for projects, and select project teams Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan Minimum of ten (10) years previous experience with design and project management of municipal infrastructure and/or land development projects Experience in proposal writing and client management; demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and win project proposals.
Must be in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, or other locations in Western Michigan Preferred Qualifications: Fifteen (15)+ years of previous experience in the Civil Engineering field Five (5) years of experience managing projects and/or developing client relationships Experience developing and mentoring junior staff Who we are Better Places.
