Traditional Osteopathic Doctor Health Coach
I'm a doctor that specializes in lifestyle and prevention.
I enjoy talking with people and explaining how certain habits can either prevent or cause diseases.
I will teach you how to actually be healthy.
I do not practice medicine and sick care by covering up your symptoms, but instead will teach you how to help yourself use diet and lifestyle to be healthy.
This is how to both heal and prevent diseases.
As an osteopath who embraces my traditional roots, I believe the body is self-healing.
If you give the body what it needs, it will heal itself.
In fact, even drugs are based on the body's innate abilities to self-heal by using the body's enzymes, messenger molecules, or other mechanisms of action.
Before attending medical school and becoming a physician, when I was doing a research-based Master of Public Health, I realized how most diseases are preventable with lifestyle.
Then going on to learn medicine, I saw how doctors don't have time to teach lifestyle and that many people want a pill instead of lifestyle advice.
This is why I am inspired to teach people what most doctors don't have time for.
I can teach you how to live a healthy lifestyle by holding your hand along each little step, giving assignments like cooking a new recipe or journaling your emotions, how to shop for healthy items, how to overcome a bad habit, giving you exercises designed for your body type and physiology, and helping you learn how
to make healthy choices with daily living.
I help clients both online as well as in their homes.
Diet:
We can explore your healthy dietary options based on your needs.
I have 2 main goals with diet: nutrient dense and chemical free.
The first is to eat nutrient dense so that every bite counts as many, you receive concentrated nutrients that will infuse all your cells, and you will have the building blocks for your body to create and maintain your health.
The second is to avoid chemicals by avoiding pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other human-made substances that are potentially harmful.
Avoiding poison will allow your healing from the first step to be maintained so you aren't causing more diseases.
Exercise:
You will learn how "burn it off" is the opposite of how you should think.
Yes you need to move, stretch, and strengthen, but you should not use exercise to burn off unhealthy foods.
Exercise is an opportunity to take the nutrient dense and chemical free foods through your body and feed you at the deepest levels and wash out normal metabolic waste products.
If you exercise to burn off bad food, you process that bad food faster; the bad food still goes through your cells and feeds them.
Yes you get the benefits of moving, decreasing blood sugar, reducing body fat, etc.
, but you are focusing on the elimination of bad products.
Instead, you should focus on marinating in nutrients and giving your body the nutrients it needs for health.
That way, you are processing healthy building blocks while also washing out toxins.
This helps you benefit from exercise.
Mental health:
So often overlooked, how you feel is vital to health.
Your emotions influence your ability to live healthy.
Your interactions with others can help or hinder your health.
Sometimes you need someone to talk to that understands, need to journal about obstacles or successes, need help analyzing thought patterns, or maybe you want help making a plan of change and action.
We can learn how to improve your mental health so you want to become healthy and stay healthy.
Reach out if you are interested in starting or maintaining your journey towards health.
We can chat on the phone or meet in a coffee shop to discuss your needs and create a good plan.
I look forward to hearing from you!
