Overview:
Blarney Castle is seeking a Merchandising Manager that will direct convenience store operations to improve their market share and profitability, and ensure the success of the business.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school degree or GED combined with bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field preferred.
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with grocery operations and industry trends, preferred but not required.
Ability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including occasional nights and/or weekends.
Ability to travel to different locations.
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates and implements operational strategies to drive productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction at all markets.
Develop merchandising program for available display space to enhance seasonal or advertised sales.
Creates and implements operational strategies to drive productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction at all markets.
Assist Store Manager with product selection and space allocation throughout the store.
Implements operational policies and procedures for the grocery markets.
Monitor in-store product rotation and waste.
Develop strategies and review actionable solutions to optimize inventory management.
Support markets to develop, monitor, and review sales, labor costs, purchases, and other expenses to ensure markets are within budget.
Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with all programs, rules, regulations, and standards.
Ensures newly implemented and existing training programs are successfully completed by store employees.
Assist with new location openings and acquisitions.
Ensures all staff is up to date with training for compliance and necessary re-certifications.
SERV Safe certified.
Works with store staff to ensure good relationships with vendors and external inspectors.
Ensures customer satisfaction with proper and complete training of store staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds throughout a normal shift, moving and stacking merchandise, cleaning, sweeping, shoveling snow.
Ability to read alpha and numeric data on cash registers and procedure documents.
Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in commercial refrigerators and freezers.
Ability to operate microwaves, small ovens, scales, and other cooking equipment.
Ability to work inside coolers to maintain inventory.
Ability to safely handle all necessary cutting tools.
Ability to use tools and equipment.
Ability to ascend and descend a five-foot step ladder safely.
