*Position Title: * The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the Spring Lake Fitness & Aquatic Center (FAC) and all staff in the absence of the FAC Leadership Team.
*Status: *Part-Time,
*Department: *Spring Lake Fitness & Aquatic Center (SLFAC)
*Reports To: *AssistantDirector, SLPS Fitness & Aquatic Center
*Overview:*
*Essential Functions:*
* Works as an effective team member contributing to and supporting all activities, policies, and procedures at FAC.
* Provides excellent supervision and leadership to the FAC team at all times.
* Opens and/or closes the building including; managing staff, breaks, and staffing concerns throughout the day, overseeing program and activity preparation, and follow up.
* Manages scheduling alongside other lead departments, and asst director.
* Takes an active role in training, planning, coordinating, set-up and take down of special events, parties, and competitive events.
* Performs and develops special event procedures to promote engaging and exciting experiences with SLPS partners.
* Other duties as assigned by the Asst.
Director SLPS Fitness & Aquatic Center
* Monitors all staff conduct in the building and gives direction and feedback as necessary.
* Reports day to day events or facility needs to Asst.
Director.
* Interacts with the public answering questions and concerns, and enforcing policies.
* Responds to calls from all staff.
* Oversees and leads response of emergencies in the building according to the Employee Emergency Procedures.
* Ensures proper reports are completed submitted for situations that arise.
* Aids instruction of the Lifeguard Instructional Program including; assisting with in-services, recertification courses, and training sessions, and leading Lifeguard Certification and Renewal classes.
* Provides excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, combined with a positive attitude.
* Assists in the development and training of all team members.
*Work Schedule: *
Varied Base Hours: Seasonal
* Mon-Friday, 2:00pm-9:00pm (shifts)
* Sat.
, 7:30am-4:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
* Sun.
, 12:00pm-4:00pm
Hourly staff are expected to work a varied and flexible schedule including day, evening, and weekend hours to support 7-days per week operations
Be available via phone to support staff on evening and weekends
This position has an emergency on-call expectation and requirement
*Qualifications/Experience:*
* Bachelor’s Degree or Experience in Recreation, Sports Management, Facilities Management, Personnel Management, or Public Administration.
* First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Lifeguard, and Lifeguard Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire
* 1+ years of experience supervising part-time staff
* Proven ability to act as a positive role model for all staff and project a positive attitude, manner, and appearance.
* Ability to model excellent customer service and communication skills
* Demonstrated mature judgment, reliable and ethical behavior.
* Ability to organize and manage several tasks simultaneously.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot quickly in times of high pressure.
* Aptitude for technology, including computers and software
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* CPO-Certified Pool Operator or AFO-Aquatics Facility Operator
* Lifeguard Management Certification
* Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification
* Water Safety Certification
* Experience utilizing recreation software solutions
