Long Road Distillers, Grand Rapids’ first craft distillery, is opening a new location in Grand Haven and is actively seeking a Kitchen Manager interested in running the kitchen.

We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with the kitchen’s operations so that they may assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all day to day kitchen operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):
● assist chef with scheduling/ staffing needs
● execute purchasing on a weekly basis and assist chef with maintaining good, even purchasing numbers.
● helping with continued staff training/ education.
● delegate out roles/ responsibilities to other team members to maintain good line function and cleanliness.
● carry out orders delegated to them by the chef.
● discipline/ reward staff as needed.
● assist in working stations/ shifts within the kitchen on a daily basis.
Applicant Qualifications
● Be precise and detail oriented
● Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
● Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with prep cooks, wait staff and Chef
● Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot environment
● Flexibility with job duties and shifts, willing to arrive 10 minutes prior to assigned shift
● Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety best practices
● knowledge of product purchasing
● a basic understanding of staffing requirements to achieve a goal and how to organize/ command this hierarchy.
● Knowledge of cooking procedures
● Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills
● Prior experience in related food service positions preferred
Education/Training
● Must be 18 years of age
● at least 4 years of culinary training required
● an understanding of product purchasing
● and understanding of the basics of staffing

Pay: $20.
