origin coffees to cafés, hotels, restaurants and retailers around the world.
The CI Specialist will provide
overall leadership for the environmental, safety and health programs for the 3 La Colombe Manufacturing
locations (Norton Shores MI, Tioga St and Salmon ST in Philadelphia, PA) These programs include, but are
not limited to; OSHA regulatory compliance, EPA regulatory compliance, injury and environmental event
prevention and management programs and development of site-specific procedures that support company
policies.
This role directly interfaces with all levels of the organization and is key to ensuring the site meets or
exceeds expected results and performance metrics.
This role will report directly to the Site Manager with a
strong dotted line to the company VP of EHS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direction and supervision to 2 EHS Specialists
Provide direction, coaching and collaborate with site supervisors, managers, and directors on how to manage and obtain desired results within the safety programs.
Provide direction and oversight to routine environmental compliance programs including, but not limited to: Stormwater Management, SPDES Permit compliance, Waste Management and hauling, Potable Water, Tier II reports, Air Permit registration, Toxic Release Inventory reports, Greenhouse Gas Emission validation, FCC radio licenses, Cooling Tower Registrations and sampling, Bulk Petroleum and Bulk Chemical Storage Certifications and others.
Ensure implementation and continuous improvement to all safety related programs and policies including, but not limited to: Hazardous Energy Control Program, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety Program, Chemical Management, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, PIT Safety, PSM, Respiratory Protection, Emergency Action Plan and Radiation Safety
Collaborate with engineering and other departments on new projects or repair work to ensure safety & environmental requirements are met.
Collaborate with site leadership to develop, track and manage key performance indicators both lagging and leading that help drive results.
Collaborate with other Chobani locations to ensure consistent application of standards and best practices.
Assist in and help coordinate use of safety capital funds designated to reduce risk and injuries at the site
Manage and oversee site safety training program to ensure OSHA and Company policy requirements
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
6-8 years’ experience with emphasis on safety culture development.
3-5 years’ experience (can be concurrent with safety) in environmental compliance.
Bachelors or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, or a related field
Leadership skills to direct and grow the safety performance at the site through others.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft based software.
(Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
)
Ability to work flexible hours to provide support and guidance to the plant across all shifts and work schedules.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate results and opportunities.
