Successfully lead, direct and coordinate the activities of our Customer Quality Engineers.
Direct problem-solving activities resulting from Quality issues.
Develop meaningful relationships with our customer manufacturing plants and Quality staffs.
Play an integral role in the leadership of the Company.
Drive continuous improvement through corrective action implementation and lessons learned.
Essential Responsibilities:
Customer Quality Engineering
Achieve a meaningful understanding of customer-reported issues consistently across the QE team.
Drive accurate root cause analysis.
Implement meaningful and lasting corrective actions.
No corrective actions open beyond 90 days unless specifically reasoned with a specific cause.
Foster relationship development between the Customer Quality team and our customers.
Create an environment and the relationships necessary to rally the company around Quality-related issues.
Staff Development
Coach and mentor each Quality Engineer personally to grow and contribute.
Be a teacher and subject matter expert within the company on logical thinking, technical problem solving, and implementing data-driven solutions.
Have an aptitude for understanding business and manufacturing processes at ASPC and develop into a process expert over time for Quality.
Be an approachable Leader within the company with a servant leadership style and approach.
Be quick to recognize a job well done and to appropriate positive reinforcement when deserved.
Ability to administer a tough love approach to those who need help with discipline and following direction.
Organizational Leadership
Develop an intimate understanding of our business and how Quality-related decisions affect it.
Ensure to drive continuous improvement through specific actions and culture.
Participate in and contribute to Leadership-level conversations and discussions appropriately and constructively.
Drive data-driven problem-solving across the organization.
Participate and help to implement organizational learning through lessons learned and creative solution generation.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training QE’s; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
All other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Logical, Structured, Data-driven Problem Solving.
Have a working knowledge of Statistics (Minitab use a plus)
Ability to understand Lean principles and implement Lean solutions.
Drive process improvement and identify areas of opportunity to support manufacturing’s success without jeopardizing Quality goals.
Combine skills and be able to make intelligent tradeoffs to arrive and at best overall solutions.
Proficiently uses Word, Excel, Power Point, email system and can learn ASPC’s ERP system (PLEX)
Understands and can train on common Technical topics such as Blue Print Reading, Theory of Constraints, GD&T, Gage R&R, SPC, DOE, inspection procedures, measurement techniques, data analysis, etc.

Working knowledge of Quality and Environmental systems (IATF 16949:2016)
Education Requirements:
BS of Engineering, Metallurgy or Materials Science
Experience working in Quality Assurance.
10+ years of Automotive Experience in Quality Engineering (preferred).
Experience with IATF 16949:2016 (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, etc.
)
Knowledge of SPC, DOE, and GD&T
Excellent problem solver - understanding of 8-D methodology.
Ability to Supervise, Lead and Motivate others.
Quality Manager experience is plus.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt preferred.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.
