As the Airport Deputy Director, you are responsible for engaging internal and external stakeholders regarding organizational strategy, airside business development, budgeting, project management, planning, land use, outreach, marketing, advertising and related programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in airport operations, finance, maintenance, administration, emergency response, business development, project oversight; have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and be available 24/7 to respond to, and possibly lead, emergency situations.
*Additional Responsibilities include:*
* Provide regular contact with Muskegon County Administration through regular reporting on airport operational performance, discuss suggestions for improvements, maintain financial integrity, and ensure F3 is meeting the needs and goals of the client
* Develop and implement approved Airport security, certification and safety programs in accordance with FAA and TSA regulations and guidelines
* Develop and administer the airport's annual budget in conjunction with the client’s financial staff, provide recommendations required to improve airport operations and meet client goals
* Coordinate and monitor the review, renewal and compliance of all contracts, leases, and agreements with tenants, leaseholders and legal counsel.
Negotiate terms when required.
* Assist in the preparation of project requests for state and federal funds and monitor projects to ensure coordination of all necessary parties.
Track all State and Federal project payments
* Act as point of contact for project management with the FAA, MDOT, and engineering consultants with contracts, permits, accounts payable and receivables
*Required Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Aviation/Airport Management, Public Administration or related field with at least 3 years of management experience
* At least 2 years of experience in an aviation related field that includes a general understanding of FAR Part 139 regulations
* Experience in communicating with municipal government officials, as well as state and federal agencies
* Strong computer literacy, including confidence working with MS Office Suite of products
* Excellent time management, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
* Valid driver’s license
*Desired Qualifications:*
* Certified Member (CM) or Accredited Member (AAE) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
* Experience with driving on an airfield
* Familiar with aviation terminology and operating 2-way radios to communicate with FAA ATC
