DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : PROVIDE LEADERSHIP FOR THE DISTRICT’S INSTRUCTIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE INCLUDING THE DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING, AND EVALUATION OF THE DISTRICT’S CURRICULUM PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND SUPPORT FOR BUILDING ADMINISTRATORS, TEACHERS, AND INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES TO IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT PRACTICES SUPERVISE DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES REPRESENT THE DISTRICT IN MATTERS RELATED TO INSTRUCTION TO VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS PROVIDE LEADERSHIP FOR THE DISTRICT’S STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAMS PROVIDE LEADERSHIP FOR ALL ASPECTS OF THE DISTRICT’S INSTRUCTIONAL AND ASSESSMENT PROGRAMS COORDINATE STAFF DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS TO SUPPORT THE ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC NEEDS OF STUDENTS MAINTAIN VISIBILITY THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT DEMONSTRATE CULTURAL PROFICIENCY AND USE CULTURALLY RELEVANT ROUTINES AND PRACTICES MANAGE AND MONITOR INSTRUCTIONAL AND CATEGORICAL BUDGETS AS ASSIGNED COORDINATES ALL DISTRICT ACCREDITATIONS/STATE PROGRAM REVIEWS PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED DISTRICT DESCRIPTION : Coldwater Community Schools has approximately 2924 students and is located in Branch County in Southwest Michigan, 69 miles south of Lansing, Michigan, and 36 miles southeast of Battle Creek, Michigan.
The district covers approximately 175 square miles and encompasses 12 city and township jurisdictions.
The district includes a Y5-1st grade elementary building, a 2nd-3rd grade elementary building, a 4th-5th grade elementary building, a 6th-8th grade middle school building, a 9th-12th grade high school building, and a child care/early childhood learning center.
23% of our students are English Learners.
13% of our students qualify for special education services.
63% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Our students come to us from diverse families and cultures.
The school community has generously supported the district with a recent bond to build a new upper elementary building, which opened in April 2021.
