A propagation nursery that specializes in shrubs, vines, and small trees, we are an industry leader in new, colorful flowering shrubs.
As a Crew Leader, you will work closely with the New Plants Assistant Managers and the New Product Development & Stock Manager to lead and supervise the crew in daily tasks pertaining to the care and growth of Stock and R&D plants.
Title: CREW LEADER - STOCK
Reporting to: NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & STOCK MANAGER
Summary:
Direct supervision of all daily tasks performed by the crew in Stock.
This position reports to the Stock Assistant Manager and the New Product Development & Stock Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assign jobs to crew members to complete tasks as requested by the manager or assistant manager.
Maintain individual records, as requested, for each crew member.
This includes at what time a job is started, how many pieces are completed by the crew member and what time the job ended.
Summarize written data for each crew member daily, as
requested.
Continuously monitor production rates of the crew.
Maintain acceptable production rates established by the manager.
Display efficiencies in all production activities and train new members on proper technique; lead by example
Continuously monitor and enforce quality standards set by the manager or assistant manager.
Follow instructions given on written or oral procedures.

Employee and Safety Handbooks for employees working in this department, including but not limited to, punching one’s own timecard, leaving and returning from breaks on time, working efficiently
Monitor crews in other departments, as needed, effectively and efficiently
Maintain a golf cart, machinery, tractors and various powered hand tools.
Utilize computers to look up things in NAV, print labels, enter information into PICAS, etc.
Assist with weekend duties under supervision of manager or assistant manager
Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 50 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of nursery or landscape experience.
Must have at least 1 year of management experience.
Or work one year as seasonal crew leader and achieve above average rating by manager to qualify
Performance Requirements:
Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
