*Function:* The person responsible for food service will plan and oversee meals in accordance with our partners at Michigan Department of Education.
Camp Tall Turf is responsible for upholding the guidelines for providing and tracking meals served through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
A qualified food service manager will have had previous experience in planning and preparing meals for large groups and managing others within the kitchen.
Expertise and attention to detail in cleanliness and food storage/safety is required.
Serv Safe Certification is recommended.

Camp Tall Turf was founded with the vision to provide a safe, peaceful and fun environment for children of different racial groups to come together.
Since it's very beginning, Tall Turf's ministry has been to proclaim and demonstrate reconciliation.

The application is a 3-step process.
You will be asked to complete an initial application to gather information to share with our staff, a secondary application to submit supplemental information and an online interview.
For leadership positions, more than one interview may be necessary.

This is a seasonal position that starts around the first of June and ends mid-August.

Each camp session starts in Grand Rapids.
We pick up most of our campers at the Tall Turf Ministries office and drive 90 minutes to Hesperia to Camp Tall Turf for 5 to 8 day youth overnight camp and/or 3-day family camps.
One week of camp takes place in Grand Rapids – employees are expected to provide their own housing during that week, usually toward the end of July.

Housing and meals are provided while camp is in session.
Employees are driven back to Grand Rapids when sessions end.
Employees have a few days in between sessions to spend away from camp to recharge.

All employees must provide proof of certifications and are subject to local and national background checks.
Candidates with CPR, first-aid and lifeguard certifications are given preference.
Reimbursement for certifications may be available.

We use guidance from our local health department, state licensing and American Camping Association in preparing and handing health and wellness of our campers, staff and guests.
In the event that we are unable to host camp in-person, we will retain staff to perform outreach that can be done to engage our audience remotely.
