The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the technology, security and fidelity of all electronic data systems used by West Michigan Community Mental Health (WMCMH) in meeting the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
The Director of Information Technology ensures that WMCMH has policies and procedures in place that comply with laws and common practices to safeguard protected healthcare information (PHI), comply with federal and state law, meet accreditation standards, and is well-versed in the application of commonly accepted technology, security, and support practices, and serves as Security Officer for the organization.
The Director of Information Technology stays abreast of current and new technologies to keep senior leadership apprised of both threats and opportunities.
Additionally, this position provides oversight for data management, risk mitigation, disaster recovery, information technology equipment and services, technology vendor relationships, and the associated budgets.
The fulfillment of these responsibilities is achieved through the application of knowledge, skills, and abilities of both the Director of Information Technology and the IT Staff.
The Director of Information Technology ensures that IT staff skills stay current and meet the needs of each assigned position and provides direct supervision of the Information Technology staff to assure that personnel can meet the technology needs of WMCMH.
