Summary: The Quality Manager oversees all functions of the Quality Department at the plant level for Pace Industries and is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
The Quality Manager serves as a cross functional team leader, working closely with internal and external customers, suppliers, and teammates to facilitate quality department objectives and maintain the effectiveness of Pace’s quality systems.
The Quality Manager will oversee and delegate the actions needed to meet customer demand and drive continuous improvement.
The Quality Manager’s team consists of Quality Technicians, CMM Operators/Programmers, and Quality Engineers.
Additionally, the Quality Manager will be instrumental in launching new business, succession planning and culture development.
The Quality Manager will work with plant management, engineers, leads, techs, and operators to develop each team member to their next level.
Striving to ensure that everyone is working on training their own replacement to promote growth and facilitate timely promotions.
Duties and Responsibilities: Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company quality system, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement.
Responsible to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
Leads APQP activity at the plant level regarding the development and documentation of Process Flow, PFMEA and the Control Plans.
Prepares and submits PPAPs.
Prepares, implements, and maintains Quality Control work instructions.
Maintains reporting and disposal procedures for RMA scrap material.
Champions the corrective action process.
Prepares, implements, and maintains an effective statistical methods program.
Leads the training of personnel in the use of statistical methods.
Leads quality improvement by establishing methods of data collection, control charting, dimensional inspection, documentation, or other experimental design techniques.
Provide a clean and organized work environment through 5-S controls.
Leads growth and development opportunities for succession planning and career pathing within the quality department.
Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
Position Requirements: A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive TS16949 and ISO experience preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in aluminum die casting and CNC machining.
Must have experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and application.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
Expertise in all quality application tools including SPC, APQP, PPAP (process flow, FMEA, Control plans, Gage R&R, Capability analysis).
Must be analytical and possess a strong aptitude for detail.
A minimum of three years experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities.
This includes engineering, technical operations, or quality management.
