SUMMARY
The Safety and Training Manager will coordinate and facilitate all Safety and Training activities across our organization with focus on our core business objectives, highlighting important issues to Plant Manager and advising senior management on the preferred course of action.
They will work closely with business leaders, team members and other personnel to drive creation and execution of the learning strategy and curriculum for the entire organization.
In addition, they will support understanding common cause quality issues and develop training and best practices to reduce cost, while maintaining for improving overall quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, implement, and maintain a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns to the business strategy and supports a diverse and inclusive culture.
Develop and execute industry best practices for adult learning and development that will support key business goals that leverage key metrics.
Collaborate cross functionally to coordinate with all key stakeholders to develop learning programs that align to their unique need.
Leverage data to make data-driven, informed decisions regarding both safety and training to ensure relentless prioritization of these areas, with an emphasis on gap identification and future state planning.
Support and coach entire network of managers at all locations and provide these managers with safety training that is applicable to unique location.
Maintain records and provide regular updates on both the safety and training programs on both a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
Maintain and support established safety systems at all locations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and all other state and federal regulations, while continuing to track regulation changes and implementing those changes as needed.
Implement and maintain the auditing tool that will be utilized to ensure compliance at all locations and report all instances of non-compliance with action plan to correct.
Facilitate and drive a culture that is focused on safety and that encourages and awards employees that follow all safety guidelines.
Administer and sign-off on all changes to both new and existing safety and training processes while driving cost of quality improvements.
Supervise preparation of all quality reports and analyze the data from those reports to identify any key issues.
If and when key issues are identified, work with plant managers at all locations to conduct a root cause analysis of the issue and create a corrective action plan.
Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies as well as other duties as assigned by manager.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements
Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of LS information requirements.
Leadership experience in the Learning or Organizational development field
Demonstrated performance in learning strategy, design and implementation; successfully led and delivered large scale learning solutions within organizations and educational solutions that will contribute to LS mission, vision, and values.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time
Able to access and maintain centralized departmental files
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to set and follow safety requirements
