*Summary*
The Aquatics Supervisor position will be responsible for the supervision of the Lifeguard Team as well as the Slide Attendant Team.
This could include scheduling, staffing, controlling the rotation of all personnel, ensuring all essential duties are completed and checklists are followed.
The Aquatics Supervisor will assess the performance of the team and when needed provide coaching and disciplinary action.
This position will act as the lead for the department in the absence of the Aquatics Manager.
As a Lifeguard, the Aquatic Supervisor has a legal duty to protect the safety of people in an assigned area.
The Aquatic Supervisor has a professional obligation to prevent potential accidents by enforcing the rules and regulations of an aquatic setting and to react to any emergencies that occur.
This position reports directly to the Aquatics Manager.
*Responsibilities:*
· Must be able to fulfill all functions and duties of an Ellis trained Lifeguard.
· Must be able to attend bi-monthly in-service training sessions as well as any others deemed necessary by the Aquatics Department.
· Maintain constant surveillance of guests in both waterparks, as assigned.
· Relaying information between management and Lifeguards.
· Must be able to provide information to guests regarding facility layout and amenities.
· Responsible for maintaining an environment that is both safe and pleasant for pool patrons.
· Required to assist in maintaining a high level of customer service.
· Assist the Aquatics Manager with various administrative duties, as assigned.
· Performs other tasks and/or related duties as assigned or required by management when necessary.
*Qualifications:*
· Ability to properly and safely operate equipment used.
· Knowledge of the standards of care in aquatic industry.
· Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
· Ability to communicate effectively with the public, guests, and staff members.
· Must have stability along with the ability to make sound decisions that conform to Ellis and Double JJ Resort policies when dealing in adverse situations.
· Knowledge that their decisions may affect the total facility staff and the lives of others.
· Must be firm, fair, consistent, and courteous in order to gain the respect and cooperation of the public.
· Must have a positive attitude to fully cooperate with other guards in a team effort.
· Adhere to rules and regulations to ensure successful operation of a facility.
· Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
· Must be skilled in the use and care of supplied equipment.
· Independent judgment concerning work methods and procedures is required.
· The Aquatics Supervisor must pass Ellis certification and keep certification valid.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
· Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb without any difficulty.
