2nd Shift- 1:55pm-12:15 Monday-Thursday

Position Summary: The 2nd shift (working) Team Leader is responsible for setup, program and operating CNC machines to ensuring the performance metrics and KPI's are achieved.
Facilitate problem-solving activities within manufacturing area when abnormalities impact the performance of the area.
Leads shift start-up/hand-off activities, associate training, and manufacturing schedule adherence.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

Lead shift start meeting with all the team members of the team.
.
Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving activities within department when target performance is not achieved.
.
Cooperate with cross-functional team members to make improvements as needed.
.
Measure, chart and monitor predefined KPI's.
.
Ensure smooth hand-off to the next shift by communicating manufacturing needs and priorities.
.
Perform 90-day and annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
.
Proactively facilitate continuous improvement activities.
.
Monitor adherence to 5S and drive improvement efforts.
.
Lead Improvement Idea implementation on 2nd shift and update shift leaders on progress.
.
Manage versatility (Skill Matrix) process with Plant Manager.
.
Perform on-the-job training and cross-training of associates as needed.
.
Answer associate questions and foster a positive team-oriented environment.
.
Help manage staffing assignments and schedules including job rotation and overtime.
.
Manage department cross training to ensure team agility when work demands change.
.
Escalate labor shortages to Plant Manager and cover absenteeism by operating equipment, as needed.
.
Provide Plant Manager with input into the performance of team members as requested.
.
Serve as temporary Back-Up Leader to cover absences of other Shop Floor Team Leaders.
.
If trained as a first responder, provide injury related response as necessary.
.

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
.
A minimum of 5 year of experience in the relevant manufacturing area and processes
.
Previous experience managing/coaching others and assisting with on-the-job training
.
5 years CNC (Mill/Lathe/EDM/Laser) Programming, setup & operating required
.
Preference to working with people in a team environment
.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
.
Strong problem solving skills with prior exposure to lean manufacturing tools and techniques
.
Task oriented with strong attention to detail
.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
.
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment
.
Proficiency with Microsoft Applications
