Position Summary
Position Summary: Responsible for managing programs and projects that meet the objectives of the Grand Haven MSDDA.
Responsible for planning and execution of promotional events, campaigns, and overall marketing strategy that will promote the district, its businesses, and further growth and development.
Communicates weekly, and as needed, with the MSDDA Director to update on progress and activities.
Helps support MSDDA operations in all areas, as requested.

A part-time position – 15-20 hours per week with some nights and weekends as necessary.
The beginning salary for this position is $14.
10 per hour.

Works with the Director, City of Grand Haven, and Committee Chairs to create, implement, and maintain MSDDA First Block Activities and Events, including but not limited to the daily event schedule, working with the City of Grand Haven Marina Manager to maintain area cleanliness, other City of Grand Haven Dept.
of Public Works and Public Safety employees

Works with the Director and Committee chairs to create and implement MSDDA special events from inception to execution.

Updating and creating online communication tools (website, Facebook, Instagram, newsletter, etc.
).
4.
Draft standard and advanced correspondence, press releases, documents, forms, reports, and related items.
Proofread critical documents.
5.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
6.
Implementing MSDDA committee projects; and
7.
Responding to general inquiries from MSDDA committee and business members.

Requirements include the following:
• 1-2 years’ experience in a small office setting handling multiple tasks and responsibilities is required.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, adjust to changing priorities and work within deadlines.
• Knowledge and/or interest in downtown revitalization, the main street approach, and the mission of the Grand Haven MSDDA are strongly desired.
• Ability to maintain a strict level of professionalism.
• Skill in the use of office equipment and technology, including computers and related software, and the ability to master new technologies.
• Ability to perform extensive research, compile complex data and prepare accurate records and reports, including financial analysis.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with the public, business and community interests, elected officials, other employees, and professional contacts.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present ideas and concepts orally and in writing, and make presentations in public forums.
• Ability to critically assess situations and solve problems, and work effectively under stress, within deadlines, and changes in work priorities.
• Ability to attend meetings outside of normal business hours.

This position regularly works in an office setting with a controlled climate where they sit and work on a computer, communicate by telephone, email, or in person, and move around the office or travel to other locations.
An employee in this position is also required to occasionally work outside the office at field sites, including visiting development sites with treacherous terrain, requiring the employee to traverse uneven ground, climb up or crawl down to access the site, and may involve fumes, dust, chemicals or other hazardous materials, loud machinery and equipment and other dangers associated with engineering projects and construction sites.
An employee in this position must have the strength, stamina, and physical coordination needed to gain access to the construction project sites described above and observe and inspect work in progress.
